Who are you top 5 favourite athletes ,which sport do they compete in and why do you admire them ?
Here are mine:
1. Rafael Nadal (my idol)/tennis
2.Valentino Rossi (he's the greatest MOTO GP pilot ever and has a very cute style)/Moto GP
3.Daniela Hantuchova (I find her very sympathetic because my coach says that I resemble her in my appearance and in the way I play,she can do a lot more)/tennis
4.Martina Navratilova ( I admire her strong will, she has made so many compomises with herselfto be on top for so many years)/tennis
5.Ivet Lalova/athletics 100/200m sprint
(she is such a fighter.After being stunt on the track she bkoke her leg on two pieces but now she is having amazing results again.Go Ivet!!!!!!)
Oh yes, Lance Armstrong.How could I forget to mention him.I know his story and I'm also a great fan of his.A man with great will to survive and win.Truly a great athlete
1. Roger Federer [Tennis Player]
Never have i seen an athlete dominate his sporting world like Roger does. He has the aura of invincibilty, especially a couple of years back during 2004. Tiger Woods might be golf number 1, but he is quite inconsistent. The only person to match Roger's dominance and consistency is perhap's former formula one driver Michael Schumacher in his prime. Perhaps what i like most about Roger is not his ability but his humility and modesty. Where else can you find such a graceful and humble champion?
2. Steven Gerrard [Footballer]
Footballers play in various positions: Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder or Striker. Steven Gerrard can play in all [except goalkeeper] and excel in it, almost as if every position were his natural position. A immensely talented footballer, Gerrard is especially famous for many attributes. He has an incredible stamina which allows him to make lung-bursting runs through-out 90 minutes, he also has his trademark long-range passes which can pick out his team mates on the other side of the field, he has the ability to score spectacular shots from out of no where, and his ability to make crunching but clean tackles. The most all-round footballer in his current generation, and perhaps in the history of football
3. Kobe Bryant [Basketball player]
I'm not an avid basketball fan, yet i cant help but notice the talents of Kobe. People often say he is the heir to Michael Jordan, yet he is never quite there. In my opinion he is already up there on equal footing with Jordan as the best player in NBA history. I just wonder what else Kobe must do to convince critics to give him due credits, or perhaps it was his sex scandal some years back that has tarnished his reputation. But talent-wise, Kobe Bryant is the best in business.
4. Louis Hamilton [Formula One Driver]
I know he's way too young and hence abit too early for me to judge him. But personally, he is already in my top 5 favourite sportsmen list. Making his debut in formula one this year, Hamilton has stunned the world by achieving all but one of his races with podium finishes. He is definitely a hot prospect and i wouldn't be surprise if the young brit go on to dominate the racing world just like Michael Schumacher used to do so.
5. Justin Henin [Tennis Player]
What caught my eye about Henin was her diminutive size on the tennis court and the fact that she could win easily against opponents who were much more physically-built than her. Though she might not look like it, but to me she was the female version of Roger Federer. Unlike other female players like Serena Williams or Maria Sharapova who grunt loudly during matches, she seem to give out an aura of calm and serenity on court, and i always like to see such players winning against their noiser counterparts [eg federer against nadal]. because it just makes their victory seem so easy and effortless.
